What this site collects, why, and how to opt out.
If you create an account we store your email address, your plan, your watchlists, your email preferences and any votes you cast on explanations. If you subscribe to the newsletter without an account we store your email address, your country, the page you signed up from, and a record of the consent wording you agreed to. We use this to run the features you signed up for and to send the emails you chose. Every email contains an unsubscribe link. We do not sell or share your data.
Payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe directly and never reach our servers.
We measure traffic with Plausible, which does not use cookies and does not collect personal data, and with Ahrefs Web Analytics, which records aggregate information such as pages visited, referring site, country and device type.
Readers without a paid plan may see ads served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on those visits.
You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings, and out of many third-party vendors' personalised ads at aboutads.info. Google explains how it uses data from sites that show its ads here.
Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent before advertising cookies are set, through Google's certified consent message.
